Here's the purpose of the role:
Lead, create and develop stories and content designed to inspire and educate Muslim children, to achieve their potential through faith.
Here are your key responsibilities:
Lead the editorial and publication of a category within the Learning Roots portfolio.
Develop, design, write and edit content relevant for our target audience, Muslim children aged between 3-15years+, at each stage of their development, aligning with Learning Roots vision and strategy.
Lead and manage the production design of titles (layout, artwork, images etc.), working with internal and external teams, and ensure publications are accurate and free of errors.
Recruit and manage researchers, authors, writers, editors and copywriters etc. to deliver category objective
Set content standards and establish goals and expectations for both internal and external stakeholders
Ensure publication timelines and budgets are met
Work with sales and marketing to drive volume and revenue of the portfolio
Understand, report and update on trends and changes within the children's publication space
Here are the knowledge and skill requirements for the role:
Bachelor's degree in English, Journalism or Communication preferred
5 years experience in children publication and editing
Excellent editorial and copywriting skills
Creative thinker
An eye for detail with critical thinking
Strong command of the English language
Excellent written and oral communication skills
Strong interpersonal and people management skills
Passionate about inspiring children to be great
Prioritise, organise and manage time effectively
Meeting deadlines and managing schedules and budgets
