Why we need you...
Here's the purpose of the role:
- Orchestrate, create and develop stories and content designed to excite and inspire Muslim children to achieve their potential through faith.
- Support the management of Learning Roots Editorial Studio: The internal resource hub of researchers, writers, editors and copywriters.
What you'll have to do...
Here are your key responsibilities:
- Design, edit and improve content to align with Learning Roots’ vision and our target customer preferences.
- Oversee content design (layout, artwork, images etc) and ensure publications are accurate and free of errors.
- Support the development and leadership of the Learning Roots Editorial Studio, this includes:
- Supporting category heads with the development of their portfolios.
- Recruitment and management of researchers, authors, writers, editors and copywriters etc.
- Writing content in key categories for publication.
- Set content standards and establish goals and expectations for both internal and external stakeholders.
- Ensure publication timelines and budget are met.
- Work with sales and marketing to drive volume and revenue of the company portfolio.
- Understand, report and update on trends in the children’s publication category.
Do you have what it takes?
Here are the knowledge and skill requirements for the role:
- Bachelor's degree in English, Journalism or Communication preferred
- 2-5 years experience in editing /copywriting /publishing
- Excellent editorial and copywriting skills
- Creative thinker
- An eye for detail with critical thinking
- Strong command of the English language
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
- Strong interpersonal and people management skills
- Passionate about inspiring children to be great
